Q/A Session – Welcome!

Hi have been meaning to create a blog ; ever since I saw people sharing their words of wisdom , thoughts and criticism and expression in this small yet a huge space.

I experimented with it a lot. Used a free version but never saw my focused attitude towards it. I realized until and unless , I make this a priority; I won’t be able to do it otherwise.

The reason is this platform.

So, in order to welcome myself as well as my future subscribers. I asked my friends aka followers over my bookstagram ( IG – rimsha.reads ) , to  send in some questions which they would love to hear my answers of –

1. What is the book that you enjoyed the most, like you stayed awake and finished it in one sitting ? – @mahamijaz2

I have been a reader from a while now, but not as in my whole childhood was spent reading. I was fond of it but was deprived of all the open platform available today. That is a reason that I have read less books but I dream of reading a lot of them. Literally, a lot.  I never thought, I will get a platform in shape of Instagram, which will motivate not only to read more but also to greet and collaborate with the publishers and authors all over the world. It is great.

‘The Divergent series by Veronica Roth’ is the one which kept me awake all night. I read it last year. And I wish to read it again soon.

2. What are your favourite genre ? Do you read non-fiction?                                                                                 – @michael_lux

I’m a mood reader, like seriously. It depends, what I feel like reading when I wish to read. I read almost everything except horror ( it freaks me out). I read fantasy when times get tough and I really feel like escaping this world. I read contemporary , when I miss something in my life. I read suspense when I want to binge read something. I read literary fiction when I’m in a good mood.

This is just in general. It changes. Also, I have not read any non – fiction as of yet. But I will some day.

3. What made you start bookstagram ? –  @theperksofbeingnoura

The love for books. I was always fascinated by the booktube community. I enjoyed watching the way they expressed their thoughts. Then one day I found bookstagram community. It was then only I knew that is what I want to do and I can do. This lead to the birth of thebookwitches and then rimsha.reads .

4. Are you planning to study something literature related ? – @michael_lux

Yes. Actually I will end up my graduation in the coming week. And it is bachelor in literature. Also, I’m planning to pursue masters in literature as well. So, lets hope for the best.

5. How many books do you read in a month ? – @mahamijaz2

I’m not a slow reader but I like taking my time with books. My average as of now is 3 books per month. That’s a lot less as compared to others but as say ” Comparison is the death of joy “

6. Least favourite genre. – @mahamijaz2

7. Top five books you recommend to everyone. – @theperksofbeingnoura

My recommendations keep on changing as i read books. But there are some I would highly recommend still –

  • YA Mental health – A list of Cages by Robin Roe
  • Historical Fiction  – Homegoing by Yaa Gyasi
  • Sci Fi –  The Divergent series by Veronica Roth
  • YA contemporary – Unconventional by Maggie Harcourt
  • Classic – Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte

  1. That was great, glad to know you better! Thank you for answering my questions too! I don’t lke horror as well and it is funny that I am currently reading a horror book. I wish you get you BA and continue to MA. I think the time has come for you to read some non-fiction and maybe less YA and more contemporary authors. I am also a “mood” reader can’t read a book that doesn’t “feel” right at a particular moment. And I am glad you are also a slow reader like me, there is no fun in rushing through books!
